Our efforts here in a Richmond are by no means unprecedented – all around the US, multiple local tenant union movements have challenged abusive and negligent landlords. We have tried to learn from the successes and struggles of these groups. In the future, we will share links to news stories about successful tenant union campaigns – successes which were only possible because tenants dared to get organized and take it to the mat.
We will also share legal resources here as part of our effort to educate tenants about their rights as defined by the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenants Act.
